An eye opening conference (Umed Parishad) by Umed Pariwar

Umed Pariwar concluded 11th State level conference (Umed Parishad) on 23 and 24 Feb'13 at Saubhagya Mangal Karyalay, Pune, which threw light on the issues faced by mentally afflicted and cerebral palsy individuals and also introspected into ways to deal with their problems.
The Honorable Guests for the inaugural function were Shri Sudhir Darode of Darode Jog Constructions, Pune and Mr. Taware of Karan Developers , Pune. The Honorable Guest for cosing session was Mr. Mohan Palesha- Past District Governor of Rotary Pune District 3131.
In the light of the aforesaid conference, Umed also received a letter of acknowledgement and appreciation for its work, from the esteemed Loksabha MP Mrs. Supriya Sule. The conference was well attended by parents, teachers and staff of institutes related to the field from across Maharashtra. Following topics were discussed during the event:
- Rehabilitation of mentally challenged and cerebral palsy afflicted individuals
- Workshops- their role, functioning, relevance and ways to promote marketing of goods made in the workshops.
- Behavioral issues in children and importance of counseling amongst parents and teachers
- How parents and teachers successfully helped to overcome their ward’s handicap.
- Maharashtra Govt’s rules and regulations with respect to National Trust/ PWD Act
- Income Tax/ Mumbai Public/ Social Welfare Department- In conversation with the Commissioner
